Why was it made?

Faux fire was created December 20th, 2008 on a cold night, via dial up internet, at a kitchen counter. It was found that there was no easy place online for people to get into the holiday spirit. A quick website was put up, and within 5 hours hundreds of thousands of people had shared it with others all over the world. A simple concept was adopted by millions as the premier online fire, and a modern mix on a classic concept.

Charity Involvement

With the popularity of the site from last season, we're trying something new. This season we wanted to utilize our traffic in giving back to those in need over the holidays. Many of the people who enjoy this site have the capacity to make a small contribution which will help someone less fortunate over the colder months approaching.

To contribute we have developed several fire related products which are now available through fauxfire.com. A portion of all sales of our iPhone Application, HD Screen Savers, and the DVD video will go to helping others stay warm this holiday season, with proceeds going to The Salvation Army.
